Meet the Instructor: Marti Ewing - Certified Yoga Therapist (500 hours teaching experience), Yoga Therapist specializing in Recuperative Hatha Yoga.

The advantages of this practice can be seen in faster recovery times, longer strides and better range of motion. Marti initially sought out this practice to help her with lower back pain and sciatic nerve issues. She found her lower back pain was almost completely healed with consistent practice. This is when Marti became passionate about teaching people this practice to create more balance in mind and body. Her teaching incorporates strength building and stress reduction techniques, along with restorative practices.

Marti spent ten years creating and developing the yoga program in the Integrative Medicine Department at St. Luke’s Hospital in the Texas Medical center, where physicians write consults for yoga and meditation.

She has special training in Pink Ribbon Yoga and also worked with Baylor College of Medicine to create a class for breast cancer patients and also developed a meditation and mindfulness component for her patients. Her teachings are based in evidence but melded with sacred teachings of the ancient yogis for a perfect blend of east meets west. When she is not teaching group fitness she can be found coaching others in healthy lifestyle choices in her private practice.
