Mala's & Meditation Workshop
Saturday April 21st, 2018 4-5:30pm
Malas are strings of beads traditionally used in prayer or meditation. They are a powerful tool for meditation by helping to focus and calm the mind, and can be a beautiful reminder of an intention that is important for you. This workshop will introduce you to the history of malas, including their roots in Hindu and Buddhist practices, and explain a few different ways that they can be used in meditation so that you may develop your own meditation practice at home using a mala. We will also go over how to choose a mala and different gemstones, woods, and metals that are commonly used in making them. A guided mantra meditation, either with or without a mala, will follow.
There will be hand-tied malas available for purchase.
